Medical
Medical team members of Summit Air Ambulance are accountable to the highest industry standards of care and must hold the following certifications upon hire:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
In addition, each team member participates in continuous training programs to enhance their skills and keep up with the latest technologies, techniques, and medical protocols.

Aviation
Summit Air Ambulance pilots must have extensive experience in planning and executing the demanding types of flying associated with transports in our service areas. The minimum required experience and certifications include:
• Minimum of 2,000 total flight hours, which must include at least:
• 1,500 hours as pilot in command
• 300 night flying hours
• 200 mountain flying hours
• Current First or Second Class Medical Certificate
• ATP or Commercial & Instrument ratings
• NVG experience (helicopter)
Our pilots average well over 5,000 flight hours.
